Hi, I'm Olly (or Oliver or Little Juggernaut Design or human)...Welcome to my folio site!

Firstly, a little about me and my services:
I started off my colourful journey (career) back in 2005 at a music merchandise company working with record labels and designing tour T-shirts for high profile musicians and events...A dream come true for a fresh faced designer musician type like my good self!  From there, I gained the love and interest for apparel design and found my way into the fashion world, designing apparel prints and collaborating with many of the industry’s most prolific fashion establishments and suppliers.
The valuable experience gained from working with such companies inspired me to apply my skills in many different sectors. After concentrating predominantly on menswear, I then branched out to other sectors including, but not limited to; boyswear, womenswear, kidswear and accessories.

Although my work revolves mostly around client expectation and fashion trends, I also work on bespoke design, branding and fashion licensing too, with many of the highstreet accounts taking this route into an ever growing market.

I like a challenge, and as a designer a lot of my daily tasks are about problem solving, working into collections and retaining a commercial awareness to stay on top of things. I'm a true believer in finding the beauty and appeal in everything...dusting off and giving new life to old ideas as well as being at the forefront of design and application.

Currently I design for the likes of:

As well as design & illustration, I also have professional experience in:
Design management • Software and industry training • Consulting • Trend forecasting/Seasonal research • Cadding • Look-books & Catalogues • Capsule & P.O.S graphics • Branding & promotion • Photography

Please enjoy your stay here on my folio site and do get in touch regarding any of my design services and what I could do for you.

Peace, love, some more peace, some more love, some stuff and some things.

patterns

Patterns are certainly a true love of mine. Understanding where a pattern sits, whether in a collection, being part of a set or simply used as a complimentary element, it's essential to get it right! Especially where suppliers are concerned, it's fundamental to offer clients original patterns that show consideration and unique traits that competitors can't. I use a lot of hand drawn techniques and mixed media to help build original cool designs. Below are a selection of patterns for various companies.

Please get in touch if you would like to know more.

placements

Placements & statements...Pretty much sums up my personal approach to designing placement prints. Be bold and be confident in application and approach, otherise your doubts will be the statement. Fast fashion has changed the game for placements due to ever evolving trends...even within seasons. Keeping up, anticipating and predicting is important. Saying that, it's important to not get carried away too. When designing to brand and/or collection, one must of course adhere. Like with my patterns, I use a lot of hand drawn techniques and mixed media to create these placements & statements. Do get in touch if you would like to know who, why, when, how etc. Otherwise, see a selection of placements below...

stuff 'n' things

stuff n things

Being a print designer, I like to reach into other areas. I have experience in book cover design, music design promotion, skateboards, banner design and animations. The following gallery shows just a selection of stuff n things.

(Board, not bored) I was given the chance to design some skateboard and longboard prints as well as some branding for an urban sports supplier. Like fashion, working with the single canvas mentality, is fun...placements n statements! Same applies for my spell at designing book covers for Random House.

(Saw the band, got the T-shirt...and posters) I still dabble in music merch, designing gig posters and gig apparel. Like the boards, I really enjoy working on the single canvas.

(License to thrill) Designing for license can be tricky. For logical and obvious reasons, each brand has it's own rules on use and application. As multiple licensors and licensees offer exactly the same stock of design, I've always made it my priority to use their properties, stretch the boundaries and create  cool, stylish and original design.

(Badges and technique) In the last few years I have been designing badges and appliques for a cool kidswear supplier, who have been at the forfront of licensed fashion design havign on a couple of awards. Links to purchase and brand info are linked to these selective images in the below gallery.

I was very happy to design a Valentines capsule for Tommy Hilfiger womenswear...some very funky  bold placements...Keep an eye out in store!

A big chunk of 2017 I was designing placements and patterns for the Debenhams SS18 range. I also let a hand on the AW18 stuff too. Bring on the summer!
